IMX8MP: 5.15 Linux kernel with 5.4 U-boot

Hi,

 I have a imx8mp based board running 5.4 linux (and uboot too). I am in the process of migrating it to 5.15.71 linux. Does the 5.15.71 linux work with 5.4 uboot? (I am yet to migrate to 5.4 uboot). Any requirement of the uboot version being the same as the linux version between 5.4 and 5.15 ?

When I boot up the 5.15 linux, the linux kernel hangs with "Starting Kernel..." and I do not see anything further. I used imx_v8_defconfig as the config file.

Any pointers?
