Clicking on Inbox Items Does Nothing

I'm looking at my NXP Inbox. That's the page that pops up when I click on the blue button with the white bell on it. I can't see how that's a "Mailbox", but under there it gives options of "Inbox", "Your View" and "Actions", so I guess it's an "Alerting" page.

So I've got an list of items in there, like "Nefi Armelim how can I decrease  the consumption in ModeStop?:".

Fine, but where is that item, and who is Nefi? Clicking on the Subject SHOULD take me to the item in the Space it was wrongly posted in (Nefi posted a Coldfire question in the "Using NXP Community" space), but clicking the subject doesn't do anything. Clicking on the Name should take me to the user's page, where I can find the Activity, but that doesn't do anything either. Well it does do something - it marks the item as "Read", greys it out and greys out the "Blue Ball" on the left of each item.

So is it a Firefox problem? No, because Internet Explorer gives exactly the same results.

Is this a bug or am I missing some "feature" somewhere I have to click or right-mouse-click on?

I finally found how this works.

The Inbox defaults to "Split View". Clicking on "Full View" has the items react when clicked on. They now open another window with the item and a "Back to Inbox" link.

Going back to "Split View" and looking closely, I can see TWO scroll bars on the right hand side. If I then zoom OUT a huge amount I can see a classic "Split View" with the items min a scrolling window in the top half, and the individual item opened in the lower half.

But at my preferred zoom level, the page has the lower pane scrolled way off the bottom of my large (1920 by 1080) monitor. The Mouse Scroll Wheel initially operates on the inner pane, which has over 3 pages of items in it, so I didn't scroll enough full pages to make the lower pane visible.

Here's what my mailbox looks like, showing your question:

Screenshot from 2016-11-24 17_50_49.png

I click on your item (the second one) and I see ... NOTHING:

Screenshot from 2016-11-24 17_51_17.png

It isn't obvious that I have to SCROLL DOWN a very long way to see something happen.

If I zoom out a ridiculous amount on my screen so I have trouble reading the tiny text I can now see what's going on as the "Split" between the list and the items becomes visible:

Otherwise if I change from "Split View" to "Full View" then clicking on the entries throws to another page.

Does that explain the problem?

When in "Split View" the web site should try to get the "Split" visible on the page as displayed, and not draw it way off the bottom of the scrolled screen.

Hi Tom,

I see on your first picture scrollbar.

Please, what is your resolution? Or this view is on the tablet?

Unfortunately I don´t see any issue on my side:

> I see on your first picture scrollbar.

If you look closely you can see TWO scrollbars. The inner one scrolls the list of heading, and the outer one scrolls the whole page. The scroll wheel on the mouse scrolls the inner one. In fact I can scroll down EIGHT PAGES WORTH before the lower half of the "Split Screen" hoves into view.

I've only been using computers since before the first scrollbar appeared on the Apple Macintosh in1984, and have worked with computers continuously since then. But I'm apparently not smart enough to be able to handle the double-scrollbar hidden split pages that NXP Forum uses.

1920 by 1080 on a 21" monitor. I'd imagine people using a Tablet would have worse problems.

Of did you mean "problem resolution"? Zoom out of scroll down a few kilometers or ditch "Split Screen" and use Non-Split mode.

> Unfortunately I don´t see any issue on my side:

That's because you've got your monitor set to show microscopic sized text. My eyesight isn't as good as yours, so I'm zoomed in so far I can only see SIX mailbox items.

If you scrolled into that level (Menu / View / Zoom, or Ctrl-Numeric-Plus or Ctrl-Scroll) so as to match my original screenshot and tried it that way you should see the problem that I was seeing.

"Split Screen" should split the VISIBLE screen.

How come this question is now in "Other NXP Solutions"? This is a problem in using the forum, and I thought that I had originally put it in the correct forum?
