CWH-CTP-BASE-HE stuck at solid red TX/RX LED – no USB enumeration or Ethernet link

Hello,

I recently purchased a CodeWarrior TAP CWH-CTP-BASE-HE, but I am unable to get it working.

Current condition:

TX/RX LED stays continuously solid red.

Nothing appears in Windows Device Manager when I connect or disconnect the TAP through USB.

I have tried different USB cables and different USB ports.

I also connected the Ethernet port to a working switch/router while USB was connected for power.

The Ethernet Link LED does not turn on.

There is currently no target processor, target board, or probe tip connected.

My unit does not appear to have an external reset button.

From the CodeWarrior TAP documentation, I understand that the TX/RX LED should normally change from red to flashing orange and then flashing green when the TAP boots successfully. In my case it stays permanently solid red.

Could you please advise:

  1. Does a permanently solid red TX/RX LED mean that the TAP bootloader or operating system is not starting correctly?

  2. Could this be caused by a missing USB driver even though the Ethernet Link LED is also not working?

  3. Is there any recovery or bootloader mode available for the CWH-CTP-BASE-HE if both USB and Ethernet communication are unavailable?

  4. Is there an internal JTAG or programming connector that can be used to recover the TAP firmware?

  5. Is a recovery firmware image or recovery utility available from NXP?

  6. Is there any additional diagnostic procedure I should perform before considering the unit faulty?

I can provide the hardware revision, serial number, photographs of the unit, and PCB photographs if required.

Thank you.

Please download the attached ccs.zip file and install CCS USB driver from

C:\Users\nxa22585\Downloads\260821\ccs\ccs\ccs\drivers\usb\x64

Please don't plugin CodeWarrior TAP when installing the driver.

Then plug in CodeWarrior TAP and check the device manager whether you can find CodeWarrior TAP information similar as the attachment.

Yes, it is compatible with Windows 11.

It seems that there is problem with your CodeWarrior TAP, you could return this CodeWarrior TAP and replace it for a new one from the following link.
