I have bought a NFC EVK(OM25180FDK) and found that the antenna board has many square Cu patterns. What are these patterns? I want to evaluate the board with a touch sensor, but these patterns interrupt it. Is this a part of antenna design or the pattern simply for length measurement?

Hi Naoki Matsuda,

About OM25180FDK, actually the square pattern is to demonstrate the performance and register settings of the PN5180, simulating typical constraint conditions such as an LCD screen or some metal inside the antenna area.

The squares are not required and actually for an optimum performance it is desirable that there are no metal surfaces in the surrounding of the antenna.
