Is there an update of the PN5180 datasheet planned? The latest one available (Rev. 3.1 — 31 July 2017, 436531) has still many inconsistencies (e.g. register names different in overview and detailed description)

No,there is not. no information on schedule.
Checked it on website and docstore, the version of Rev. 3.1 — 31 July 2017, 436531 is the latest one.
