I am working on a Point of Sale terminal system. It has Android Oreo 8.0 OS installed on a custom board.
We have put NXP's PN5180 NFC chip in hardware design for the payment purpose.
I need to add kernel drivers and NFC library in the software for the chip to access it from the Android's APK level.
So, I need full step by step documentation for the same and also required software drivers and libraries download links.
Please let me know if it is possible to add support for PN5180 NFC chip in Android Oreo OS. If so, please provide required/requested details.
Thanks & Best Regards,
We don’t have android support for PN5180 however the NxpReaderLibrary available on Linux can be easily ported to Android environment (just requires makefiles adaptation). It won’t rely on Android AOSP NFC service but a native application can be created based on the NxpReaderLibrary.

Thanks for your response.
We need a solution which is compatible with Android AOSP NFC service on Android Oreo. In last week, I came across NXP PN7150 NFC chip and it seems that the drivers for chips can be easily ported on Android Oreo. Please confirm if it can be ported on Android Oreo. If so, Please provide development guide for porting drivers for PN7150 in Android Oreo AOSP.
Please let me know if you have suggestion for any other chip from NXP which has support for Android Oreo.
I would appreciate a quick response.
Yes, PN7150 support Android Oreo.
