Initialization and MiFare Card Identification steps

Hi,

I have been trying to write a driver level code for RC522 for reading the UID of MiFare classic 1K tags. I read the datasheet and found the steps for self test of the reader only. I wish to know the steps to initialize and read the UID for MiFare classic card so I can write the code for the same.

Would be grateful if someone can help me out on this.
