Encoding cards for third parties - what options do I have

Hi,

We currently have an environment where we encode cards for use with our physical access control system. We also pass credential information to third parties (airport operators) so they can allow our staff to access their doors. When staff first arrive on site they put their card in an encoder to allow the third party to encode the card. With the DESFire EV3 cards is there a secure way that we could perform the third party encoding process (eg loading their application) when we perform the initial creation of the card (load ours and third party applications during printing). I would expect the third parties wanting some way of limiting what we could do. I was wondering if createDelegatedApplication has anything to do with this, but have not been able to find details on what it does and how its intended to be used?

Regards,

Richard.

Hello @Richard_K

Have you signed NDA with NXP? As you know, MIFARE DESFire EV3 is high security product, some design resources are available for you under an NDA.
