Hello @srini1

Hope you are doing well.

Please, take a look at the AN11783 CLRC663 plus Low Power Card Detection. This document describes the principle of the LPCD feature offered by CLRC663 plus, including how to use it and how to optimize the related settings.

Also, our recommended NFC Reader Library includes an example project demonstrating LPCD functionality, I believe you could use it as a reference.

Regards,
Eduardo.

I am using the library provided by NXP there are no major changes in the calibration or any other function in LPCD functions but the IC gives a periodic interupt to the mcu since we are using STM32 as our MCU we cant use the demo code that you have provided. If there are any other library for different MCU can you share it.

Hello @srini1

As I understand, you are using a custom board based on CLRC663, and not our OM26630FDK, is this correct? If so, could you please confirm that you have followed the Antenna Design Guide for CLRC663 and that you have performed a proper antenna tuning?

You can take a look at the Measurement and tuning of a NFC and Reader IC antenna with a MiniVNA; this Application Note gives a guideline on how to measure and tune/match a NFC and Reader IC antenna with a MiniVNA network analyzer. Also, you can refer to How to use the NanoVNA for the NFC reader antenna design.

Regards,
Eduardo.

Hi,

Our NFC Reader Library supports some compatible Host MCUs from NXP's portfolio, porting this library to any third-party platform is out of our support scope. The only recommendation I could give is to please refer to the following guides: NFC Reader Library Porting FRDM_K64F, Using NFC Reader Library with LPC55S69 and NFC Reader Library Porting to i.MX RT1050 - NXP Community, and make sure to follow a similar process when porting to the MCU used in your setup.

LPCD principle, settings and optimization are described in AN11783 CLRC663 plus Low Power Card Detection. For complementary information, please refer to CLRC663 plus Data Sheet.

Regards,
Eduardo.
