Hello,

Can I use the 18 cell emulator from NXP as an input to the FRDM33771BSPIEVB by changing the wire harness according to the both boards?

Hello @Beginner_1

According to the schematics, you could use the BATT-18 EMULATOR to power the MC33771B SPI as long as the wiring is rerouted for the MC33771B. Please keep in mind the following limitations:

1. BATT-18EMULATOR does not provide an output to emulate the current, so you should not connect any pins to the SENSE_P and SENSE_N pins of the MC33771B SPI. In this case, you cannot emulate the current input of the MC33771B.

2. BATT-18EMULATOR can supply outputs between 1.2V and 3V3 and make sure that for the cells  5, 9 and 14, the Jumpers are in the default position, because the BATT_18EMULATOR can also provide negative outputs between -3V3 and -1.2V, which are not valid entries for the MC33771B.

3. BATT-18EMULATOR is powered up using 5V input only.

Please take care with the wiring!

Regards,

Marius
