mpc5643l Rappid bootloader error

Hello,

I am getting an error saying BAM communication loss with MPC564xL, with reason as BAM Password check or FAB, ABS2, ABS0 settings check.

I am using FAB = 1, ABS2 = 1, ABS0 = 0 setting ( FlexCAN with autobaud feature )

Password is the default one : 0xFEEDFACECAFEBEEF

Any hints where am i going wrong with my settings ?

Hi,

I have not run into any problems using the EVB.  I just ran it 10 times with just hitting the reset when prompted by the bootloader with no issue.  To run the bootloader for MPC5643L I usually have the FAB and ABSx pins setup for Auto Baud or FAB = 1, ABS0 = 0 and ABS2 = 1.

I also took a picture of the board that I am using so that you can see my jumper settings.

Thanks for the reply.

You say you have kept the following settings :

FAB = 1 = ABS2, ABS0 = 0. This is for FlexCAN autobad feature and as i read in the manual, MPC5643L chip doesnt support FlexCAN autobad. It only supports : SCI(FAB = 1,  ABS2 = ABS0 = 0) and serial CAN(FAB = 1 = ABS0, ABS2=0)

Also you have made serial port as connection medium, though you selected FlexCAN.

Can you please throw some light onto this, how it is working for you ?
