Hello,

Is there a application note or schematic, that shows recommended power pins/pads circuit for the MPC5634M

I am using the 208 BGA version.

Ray.

Unfortunately we do not have a specific hardware design guide for the MPC5634M device. I could recommend you some general or MPC55xx appnotes that could be useful:

Also there is a document for MPC5644A that is similar device:

I would recommend you to follow up our EVB board that can be considered as reference design:

David,

Thank you for the links. In all the documentation I have read, shows the VDD pins being powered via a BCP68 that is controlled by the VRCCTL pin.

Can the VDD pins be powered directly by 5 volts, so the BCP68 circuit is not used.

I am thinking the BCP68 circuit is so the micro can use less energy. I have a 110 amp alternator as the power supply and this is driven by a 500 hp engine. I am not really struggling for electrical energy/power.

Ray.

No, it cannot be powered directly by 5V.

VDD is 1.2V voltage domain, it must be powered by 1.2V+-10%, the voltage is allowed to be powered externally (i.e. without bypass transistor), in this case voltage range is even tighter (1.26V-1.32V).
