MPC5606S PSMI REGISTER CONFIGURATION

Hi All, 

I am working on MPC5606s  microcontroller,

My query is PSMI register is  used for input pad  selection only or it can be used for output pad selection ?

Kindly share your inputs to configure the PSMI register,when i want to use PSMI register for PORT pin configurations.

No, output are configured by SIU_PCR registers. Pay attention to picture below:

so my understanding is when PCR is configured as GPIO - input ,we need to select the pad correctly in PSMI register right?

PSMI register configures routing between pin and input of particular module.

If you only need general purpose input functionality i.e. you will read its state software way over SIU_GPDIx or  SIU_PGPDIx registers, you don't need to configure PSMI registers.
