hi, i have one MPC555 and P&E Multilink Universal on hand. what i want to know is if the Multilink Universal version can support the debug for MPC555.

if yes, which connector can we use?

Or we must use Multilink FX version?

where can we get related docs?

So, the FX version is the only option. In the past, there was this version but it's already discontinued:

But i also saw a post which said PE Multilink FX has never been tested with CodeWarrior 8.7,

CodeWarrior V8.7 and P&E Multilink FX - NXP Community

though it is in 2017.

Do you know if there is any issue for Multilink FX on CodeWarrior 8.7?

I found out that CodeWarrior 8.7 does not support Multilink FX.

CW 8.7 supports only the old version of Multilink or Cyclone MAX. But both are discontinued.

CW 8.7 and MPC555 are very old products, there's no plan to do updates.

The only available and latest version of CodeWarrior supporting MPC555 is CW 8.7. By the way, it's not compatible with Windows 7 or 10, you need old Windows XP.

And this version supports only the old version of Multilink.

I can see only two options: either try to find the old Multilink (like on ebay or whatever) or use an IDE or a debugger from other vendors. I'm sure that Lauterbach have a debugger for MPC5xx, GreenHills too, probably also iSystem. But I'm not sure what the current status is, it's possible their tools are already discontinued too. You can try to ask them.

By the way, what is the reason for this query? Are you going to update old project? Or?

Do you know what kind of error it will be encountered on CodeWarrior 8.7 for Multilink FX?

Like the one below?

Does it mean there is no driver for Multilink FX in CodeWarrior 8.7?

What's more, the CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE USB TAP could support both CodeWarrior 8.7 and MPC555, is right?

Or the Multilink old version is either OK for both CodeWarrior 8.7 and MPC555?

I'm not really sure what kind of error you will get. I just have confirmation from responsible team that it doesn't work.

Yes, CWH-UTP-PPCD-HE is also an option.

And yes, the old Multilink and CW8.7 works together.
