GPIO221 / GPIO222 Outputs are not working on MPC5674F when disconnected from programmer

Hi,

We are configuring GPIO221 and GPIO222 as output pins on an MCU with part number SPC5674FMVY3.

Observed behavior:

• The application is flashed into the board using a programmer.

• After flashing, when the programmer is removed, GPIO221 and GPIO222 do not go high.

• When the programmer remains connected, GPIO221 and GPIO222 work correctly and go high.

• Other GPIO output pins on the same board are functioning correctly in both cases (with and without the programmer).

Question:
Why do only GPIO221 and GPIO222 fail to work in standalone mode, while other output pins function normally?

Hi,

We have a SPC5674FMVY3 MCU with 3M17W marking on the board.

As per below thread, Based on the marking, can you confirm if this SPC5674FMVY3 part corresponds to Revision 2.3 of the MCU?
MPC5674F Includes eTPU or eTPU2?

As per the datasheet, GPIO220 and GPIO221 are expected to function only on Revision 2 . We want to ensure our chip revision meets this requirement, as currently these GPIOs only work when the programmer is connected. but other GPIO223 is working fine

Could you please confirm the revision from the marking and any implications for GPIO functionality?

Hi ,

Kindly help on this,

As per the SIU.MIDR register, the current chip with us is Revision 2. Hence, GPIO221 and GPIO222 should be supported as per the datasheet.

Revision

However, these GPIOs work only when the debugger is connected and do not toggle in standalone mode. Please advise if any additional configuration, pin muxing, or errata needs to be considered for these pins.
