Hello,

Is there a uC fully compatible with "MC9RS08LA8CLF" (HW and SW) ?
I saw that to migrate between "MC9RS08LA8CLF" and "MC9S08LL8CLF" SW changes are needed (for example the pin-out of the LCD controller pins are not the same).

Thanks!

Hello DemetrioMagrin,

There is no pin to pin replacement for "MC9RS08LA8CLF".

I suggest you considering function replacement part MCXC04x

https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/arm-microcontrollers/general-purpose-mc...

Or LPC80x.

If this doesn't meet your requirement. What peripherals are nencessary for you? and what is your memeory size requirement? You could let me know thus I can check it further.

Thanks,

Jun Zhang

Hello Mr. Jun Zhang,

Thank you for your reply, my main requirement is not to modify the current PCB where the uC "MC9RS08LA8CLF" used has 48 pins.
Attached I have put the pin-out schematich of the current uC "MC9RS08LA8CLF" where you can see how many pins I used for the LCD controller.
The only solution to replace the uC "MC9RS08LA8CLF" (48 pins) is to use the uC "MC9S08LL8CLF" (48 pins) by modifying the FW (different pin-out of the LCD controller).
If you have another solution it is welcome.
Thank you.

Hi,

As Jennie recommended, you can use MCXC44x family, it has 64 pin BGA or 64 pins LQFP package, both package have the LCD module

Regarding the LCD, it can support 24x8 or 28x4 segment LCD, in other words, there are 32 LCD pins which can be configured as either front plane signals or back plane signals, it supports up to 8 back planes.

This is the website of MCXC44x family:

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, as I said before my main need is not to modify the current PCB where the uC "MC9RS08LA8CLF" used has 48 pins. It seems to me that the only possible solution is to replace the uC "MC9RS08LA8CLF" (48 pins) with the uC "MC9S08LL8CLF" (48 pins) by modifying the FW (different pin-out of the LCD controller).

In order to use the "MCXC44x" family I should modify the PCB.

Thanks.

Hi,

Okay, pls download data sheet of the two chip the MC9RS08LA8CLF and "MC9S08LL8CLF, check if they are pin to pin compatible.

If they are pin to pin compatible, it is okay.

Hope it can help you
