MCX-N5x Programming Connections

New MCX-N hardware designer upgrading from a 9S12 and I'm confused about what ports to use for programming this device. On the 9s12 there was a dedicated pin for downloading firmware but on the MCX-N there seem to be a multitude of ways to program the device.

We will be using an external interface either one from PE Micro (which we use for the 9S12) or the MCU-Link. Should I bring out the UART pins of the MCX-N to connect to the external debugger? Will this also provide the debug function as well as firmware download?

I will be using the 100 pin LQFP part and don't want to dedicate more then a couple pins for programming / debug.

Any suggestions / diagrams would be appreciated.

Hello, my name is Pavel, and I will be supporting your case, I reviewed your questions, and I believe you might have a confusion with the ISP and the SWD. If you want to flash the MCU and have session of debugging I recommend, use the SWD. Please review the schematic of the board and the hardware design guidelines.
