LPCXpresso824-MAX Board doesn't connect

Hi,

I just got a brand new LPCXpresso824-MAX Board, plugged it in and, apart from the 5V LED, nothing, no sign of life. (I thought that maybe the blinky program was pre loaded, but maybe not)

Anyway that's not the problem, MCUXpresso will not connect (see screen shot).

There is no UART connection for the board in the Device manager either.

I did install the 11U35 driver then realised that I have Win10 and didn't need to, but had the problem before I installed that.

I have rebooted the IDE and the computer. Still nothing.

Hello graynomad,

Have you tried reinstalling the DAPLink firmware?

The procedure is here:
https://os.mbed.com/handbook/Firmware-LPCXpresso824-MAX

Although the firmware is available here because it's deprecated.
https://os.mbed.com/questions/74818/After-firmware-update-mbed-does-not-star/

Regards,
Gustavo

Hi @graynomad,

Please make sure that the JP1 jumper is open when using the onboard debugger.

Have you tried using an external debugger? In that case, the JP1 jumper has to be closed.

Please also try using a different SW tool, like Secure Provisioning Tool or Flash Magic to establish communication with the debugger.

Jumper open. Flashmagic can't find anything either (see screen shot).

Hi @graynomad,

Please try the following two scenarios:

1. Try establishing connections with your board using the on-board debugger and Secure Provisioning Tool, with JP1 open.

2. Try using an external debugger with any of the aforementioned tools while making sure to set JP1 jumper closed.

Sorry, it's been a while. I actually gave up.

I've used a few of these Xpresso boards in the past with no issues, this one flashes the "USB disk" LED on power up and windows pops up an explorer window with two files.  Details, txt has this content

Version: 0221
Build: Mar 3 2015 15:06:30
Git Commit SHA: 23fa06dd2fcfee6aff77f6cd8175adecb11fd1fd
Git Local mods: Yes

So the board is not bricked, but the IDE just refuses to see it.
