MCUXpresso Config Tools - Communication Error

Just installed the MCUXpresso Config Tools v10, and tried opening one of my old .mex configurations, but it seems like there is something wrong with the connectivity for the program:

Error

Communication error. Check the connectivity to the Internet and repeat again.

A similar warning message is shown when trying to create a new configuration:

Network is not available or offline mode is on

Previously, I used v9 of MCUXpresso Config Tools, but I was struggling with it crashing/not responding at startup, so I thought that upgrading to v10 could help.

I'm writing this post on the same computer, so I don't think network connectivity is the issue.

could you please look to this post? Why config tools always show no internet link, and cannot download more part number 

There you can see my questions, that can be applied to you as well, including a workaround by downloading the data offline.
