We've got LS2088ARDB board and we have problem with rebooting the board.
The problem was not observed when we used TinyDistro that was loaded by defualt into the board.
But recently we loaded pre-built firmware, Kernel and Ubuntu user-land from LSDK 18.12. The Linux Kernel and user land images were loaded into SD card. The UBOOT firmware was loaded into bank 4 of the NOR Flash.
We took the images from the locations indicated in the LSDK documentation as below:
http://www.nxp.com/lgfiles/sdk/lsdk1812/app_components_LS_arm64.tgzhttp://www.nxp.com/lgfiles/sdk/lsdk1812/bootpartition_LS_arm64_lts_4.14.tgz http://www.nxp.com/lgfiles/sdk/lsdk1812/lib_modules_LS_arm64_4.14.83.tgzhttp://www.nxp.com/lgfiles/sdk/lsdk1812/firmware_ls2088ardb_uboot_norboot.img
We also changed on-board switch options to load the firmware from NOR Flash bank 4.
After the above changes, when we perform reboot from Linux console using "reboot" command, the reboot process hangs.
The last messages displayed on the console are as follows:
[ 80.186489] watchdog: watchdog0: watchdog did not stop!
[ 85.106234] reboot: Restarting system
Also the power button lights amber (not green).
The problems happens very often, but sporadically the reboot succeeds.
We also checked reboot using UBOOT reset command and it works without any problems.
In LSDK documentation we found the below statement:
"Note that changing the boot device configuration from the default setting may require additional changes in the RCW or in other code images."
What might be a reason for the reboot fail? Can it be caused by the fact that we did not change RCW?
Cheers
Pawel
Hello Pawel Szymanski,
I have verified LSDK 1812 prebuilt images on LS2088ARDB Rev D demo board, the reboot command under Linux can work normally without any problem.
Please refer to the attached log.
Have a great day,
TIC
