Multiple SATA devices using FIS on LS1021

I am currently designing a custom board that requires two SATA drives. Reading through LS1021 reference manual I noticed that the peripheral supports FIS multiplexing. But I am having a hard time finding a simple enough SATA controller. Any suggestions?

Would a simple lane multiplexer, with one selection GPIO work for this, like PI2DBS6212?

I'll probably change to the ls1024. Any concerns shifting the project from ls1021 to ls1024?

It should be considered that NXP LSDK does not support LS1024A.

Does NXP provide any example or application note on this matter? Either for LS1021 or other layerscape core?

There is no such application note.

LS1021A SATA controller supports port multiplier operation. but there is no solution recommended by NXP either using a port multiplier chip or high-speed lane multiplexer.
