LS1028A new design without CPLD

Dear NXP expert

We are planning to go for a new LS1028A based board design without CPLD. We want to implement all reset and control outside CPLD.

Is there any dependency on firmware? Is it mandatory to use CPLD?

Hi @mkraj,

You can design a board using LS1028A without CPLD. You can refer to LS1046A FRWY schematic design for implementing the RESET circuitary without using CPLD.

Thank you verymuch for your valuable reply.

1. In LS1028A RDB , Few registers are implemented (board control and status register) in CPLD.

If we are removing CPLD, Any major software change is required?

2. Is it ok to go without these BCSR - Board Control / Status Registers in CPLD?
