LS1021A shutdown after prolonged use

Hello,

we encountered a problem with LS1021A during testing on our originally designed board, where the stream suddenly stops after about 1:53h. The problem occurred every time out of 3 tests. The log displays the following error which we didn't encounter before.

FAT-fs (mmcblk0p1): error, clusters badly computed (3746 != 3744)

The issue seems to be related to some memory overflow since it always occurs at the same time stamp. I am attaching the full log of this issue.

Second, less severe problem is the thermal shutdown setting. The default setting for LS1021A seems to be 95 degrees Celsius, which is well below the specification limit of 125 degrees. We would appreciate pointing in the right direction on how to change this setting since in our implementation the IC achieves higher temperatures than 95 degrees.

1a) QORIQ SDK V2.0-1703

1b) Test software is proprietary software for image throughput

1c) We planned to try to attempt it, but it requires some preparation

Additional new information, the error appears only when the device is booted from an SD card. NAND boot processes without error.

2) Still, is it be possible to change the 95 degrees setting?

2) Please refer to the "thermal-zones" in the LS1021 DTS:

sdk/linux.git - Freescale PowerPC Linux Tree

Thank you. We found the setting. I would like to clarify one thing regarding the operating conditions. The 105 degree upper temperature limit should be preserved on the surface of IC, or measured by the internal thermistor?

Would you have any recommendations regarding the first question?

Tj is the silicon die temperature.

Please ensure that the processor is not overheated.

Regarding the first of the listed problems, the processor is not overheating when the error occurs. Would you suggest some other solutions?

The issue could be caused by a software problem - for example with memory allocation.

1a) Which NXP SDK is used?

1b) What is the test software?

1c) Are you able to replicate the issue on an NXP evaluation board?

2) You wrote:

In the QorIQ LS1021A Data Sheet, Table 3. Recommended operating conditions it is stated that Tj max is 105 °C.
