Hardware Security Engine
The security engine (SEC 2.2) on the MPC8323E and MPC8321E allows CPU-intensive cryptographic operations to be off-loaded from the main CPU core. The security-processing accelerator provides hardware acceleration for DES, 3DES, advanced encryption standard (AES), secure hash algorithm (SHA)-1 and MD-5 algorithms.
MPC8323E has HW Security Engine, SEC2.2.
Is there a same level HW acceleration block in Qoriq series?
LS1020A and LS1021A provide SEC 5.4.
Tell me details of SEC5.4 please.

Yes, SEC engine on QorIQ family processors provide the same or higher level of acceleration
compared to that of MPC83xx.
The programming interface, however, is completely different. Starting from SEC4.x, there is
no back compatibility in the engine programming interface to SEC3.x and earlier.
Detailed description of LS1020/21 security accelerator is provided in a separate document
which requires NDA. Contact your distributor for details.
