I have tryed to uninstall 3.5 and install 3.6. Problem with USB drivers still persist.
I cannot use the product.
I would like to escalate more this issue. I really want to make this board work and those way to help other users..
Kind Regards,
Daniel

Dear Team Support

I uninstall LPCXpresso IDE. I upgrade my Vista to SP2 with the latest upgrades available from MicroSoft and install LPCXpresso again.
Unfortunately I haven't good results. I try removing the drivers related files manually also and installing again but it didn't work (results are the same).
I suppose that this is the end of the line. I'll expect the next release, perhaps it would work.

Thanks for your time

At this point, I'd recommend you uninstall/reinstall the LPCXpresso  IDE, and retry. There is no logical or evident reason the debug utility  should crash executing the command-line you've given it. I also notice  you're running Windows Vista SP1. Is there a reason you haven't updated  to the latest service pack?

Let's try another experiment from a command window. Instead of the WinUSB software probe, I'd like you to use the HID version. The procedure is much the same:

1. Disconnect and reconnect power to the LPCXpresso board.
2. In the Device Manager, "USB Device with DFU capabilities will appear. Take this opportunity to view the current list of Human Inteface Devices.

3. To boot the HID software probe:

C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.6\bin\Scripts>bootLPCXpresso.cmd hid
Booting LPC-Link with LPCXpressoHS.enc
Press any key to continue . . .

At this point, you should see a "USB Human Interface Device" get added to Human Interface Devices. Verify the vendor and product IDs. The HID software probe Hardware IDs should display as:

USB\VID_1FC9&PID_0007&REV_0100
USB\VID_1FC9&PID_0007

Finally, use a similar sequence as before:

C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.6\bin>set CRT_DEBUG_TRACE=1
C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.6\bin>crt_emu_cm3_nxp -info-emu -wire=hid
Ni: LPCXpresso Debug Driver v2.0 (Jan 18 2011 08:08:34)
1 Emulators available:
0. T1S6RGRIA    LPC-Link Probe v1.0 (Code Red - LPCXpresso)

C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.6\bin>crt_emu_cm3_nxp -info-target -pLPC1768 -wire=hid
-- should display a lot of details on LPC1768

Please capture all the output and post

Hi

The LPCXpresso 1768 Stick can be connected to the IDE without a base board kit.
By the way I try with or without base board, but the results are the same

Always when I used the base board it was connected by two USB  (one on LPCXpresso board and one on Baseboard kit)

It would probably be worth you trying a connection to the main  LPCXpresso processor board, without it connected to the baseboard - just  to be sure.

I had problems using the baseboard until I removed the J54 jumpers, as per the LPCXpresso baseboard user manual. I also came across one PC which even with a couple of USB connections would not reliably power the board - and ended up needing to use a powered USB hub for the connection to the baseboard.

Baseboard docs available from Embedded Artists, though you need to register first:

http://www.embeddedartists.com/products/lpcxpresso/xpr_base.php?tab=res

I've got EA2-USG-1001B Rev PA18 infront of me, relevant sections are 3.3 and 8.1

HTH!

I have just realised, you said you are using the baseboard. Your problems are almost certainly due to you providing insufficent power to the baseboard. The baseboard MUST be powered - please read the documentation provided.

To confirm this, disconnect the LPCXpresso board from the baseboard and then try to start a debug session.

I see you are trying to connect to and LPC1768. You have run a bunch of diagnostics (good) but unfortunately, you have run the debug driver for the LPC11/13 series, which will never work!

Can you re-run your tests but use crt_emu_cm3_nxp instead of crt_emu_lpc11_13_nxp?

The sequence should be:
- disconnect and reconnect the LPCXpresso board
-- USB Device with DFU capabilities will appear in Device Manager
- run bootLPCXpresso winusb
-- LPC-Link will appear in Device Manager
- set CRT_DEBUG_TRACE=1
- crt_emu_cm3_nxp -info-emu -wire=winusb
-- will display 1 target
- crt_emu_cm3_nxp -info-target -pLPC1768 -wire=winusb
-- should display a lot of details on LPC1768

Please capture all the output and post

Thanks

Dear Team Support

Recently I have installed LPCXpresso v3.6.2 [Build 279] on Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.
I m trying to launch the debug but it stop at 57% with the message  "No emulator or board available" (the same of the previus posts). My stick board is NXP LPC1768 with base board kit.
I did all the recomended actions depicted in this thread with several results (every NOk). The hardware is OK, it was connected to another PC with good results
The attachment has the actions sequences and results.
Please do you have any suggestion

Thanks in advance

Unlike Win7, XP does not provide a standard way to remove drivers. The only way that I know is to find the correct *.inf and *.pnf files in \windows\inf and delete them. However this is NOT RECOMMENDED and you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK.

However, looking again at the setupapi log that you sent, the drivers ARE installed correctly. As you have proved that your board works, the only remaining thing is that the USB hardware/drivers on your PC are not capable of supporting LPC-Link.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing further that I can suggest.

I have asked one colleague to let me install the software on his computer.
On a Win 7 it worked very nicely and I can debug !
So the board isn't defective.

Please explain to me how I should uninstall all the drivers from previous installation so I can use it on my computer.

On Win7 computer has told me that will install  following :

CDM Driver Package
CDM Driver Package
Code Red TEchnologies (driver package)
Philips (NXP) Universal Serial Bus controller
Code Red TEchnologies Univesal Serial Bus controller

Yes, I think it most likely that your hardware is broken.

I'm a little reluctant about this resolution.
First of all the board was sealed and looking in good shape.
I have tried a board from one of my colleagues and had the same behavior (he said that for him was working - but I didn't seen it myself).
I will check with Embedded Artists too.

GUI shows the same error.
Log file it's attached.

May be my board faulty ? It seems to communicate ok.
Or maybe the firmware it's wrong ?
I have seen on other thread that it can be reseted somehow with a short circuit.

Can you try the same process with the other .enc files:
LPCXpressoHS.enc
LPCXpressoWin.enc

Thanks

It gives an error.
Attached it's print screen and log file.

I have searched on registry over this VID 0471 and PID df55 also I have searched for *.inf files on c:\windows directory .
Restart + uninstall = unsuccessful.

Another thing for you to try:

Connect your LPC-Link

open a command window

cd <install>/bin

dfuapp /s gui

The DFU utility GUI will now be shown

Select Download and Browse to LPCXpressoFS.enc

Continue when the warning is shown

Check the "log" option and then press Start download
Report any error reported, and post the .log file that was created

The driver should now be installed. If not, you will need to remove all traces of the driver from your system and try installing again.

I did the procedure to update driver from device manager.
I have installed the new one (choosing "have disk") pointing to location :
C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.5\Drivers\DFU

Same result :( .

Please tell me how should I uninstall completely this driver !

Thanks
