Wi Fi Module to use with LPCXpresso 1343

We are researching a Indoor Location System (Like GPS but inside buildings) and trying to scan available Networks and it's RSSI for pattern matching.

Anyone has done some work with connecting an LPC1343 to a Wi Fi Module? I think we wont be needing TCP/IP Stack (only Phy) so LPC1343 will be enough to do the trick.
Any ideas or suggestions of chips to start working with?

Red Pine has some modules that have their own internal TCP/IP stack.  You can just hook them up over a serial port and use some escape codes to set up the wireless channel, etc.  Might be easier.  Data throughput is limited by the serial connection though.
   They also have some that don't have a stack, but the sample drivers might be for windows CE or something.
