Hi,

In one of our applications, we have to drive an optoisolator input with the UART.  Is there a way to invert the TX/RX signals from the UART (LPC1347)?

Thanks,

EC

Thanks guys.  We are driving through a cable and did not make provisions to power the anode through the cable and drive the buffer on the cathode to sink and invert the signal...I guess we'll have to make a revision to provide for 5V at the anode on the external opto.

As John says, just wire the opto correctly, either the way you drive the LED or the way you pull the output. Either way can be used to invert the signal.

If you wire the optoisolator correctly there is no need to invert the signals.

edit why is my signature appearing twice??

2nd edit WOW things are moving fast, the whole interface seems to have now changed.
