I'm sure by now you've heard one of the El Capitan features included a rewritten USB stack. On El Capitan, there is a rather extended delay before the FTDI driver can enumerate a Red Probe+ device which USB Prober sees immediately. The latest news is this problem appears to be fixed on Mac OS X 10.11.2 Beta 2.
