Hi everyone,
I am making the connection to a RJ-45 connector from the ethernet's TXP, TXN, RXP and RXN of the LPCXpresso1769 board using the following connections:
TXP- 1
3.3V - 2
TXN - 3
RXP - 4
3.3V - 5
RXN - 6
(unconnected) - 7
GND -8
And 0.1 uF decoupling caps between the two 3.3V pins and GND.
I have a few questions:
1. Which kind of cabling do i need to use for connection to a PC? Cross-connected or straight?
2. In the RJ-45 that i have I get a beep in the mulimeter between the cable pins and the board pins indicating a short. Does this mean that it does not have integerated magnetics? What'll happen if I use a RJ-45 without magnetics?
Thanks,
Prithvi
