LPCXpresso v3.4.0[Build 187] Error: "VirtualAlloc pointer is null, Win32 error 487"

After installing LPCXpresso 3.4 (uninstalled working v3.3 @ WIN7-PRO-32bit before) LPCXpresso showed:

make all

C:\nxp\lpcxpresso_3.4\msys\bin\make.exe: *** Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap, Win32 error 0

Found the solution in CodeRedWiki:

If this happens, please replace the file

<install_dir>\msys\bin\msys-1.0.dll

with the file in the attached zipfile. msys-1.0.zip

Changed msys-1.0.dll with downloaded msys-1.0.dll (from December 2009 :eek: ) and everything is working again.

Perhaps this error is so rare :confused: and I'm the only one who has to change this DLL after every new release,
but obvious LPCXpresso v3.4.0 includes a very old version of msys-1.0.dll ?

Hi,

I'm am sorry you are having this problem, but this is an issue that affects a very very tiny number of users and is due to the configuration of your computer. The underlying cause of the issue is that the standard DLL loads to a particular location in memory, and (because of something in your configuration), it is unable to do so. The dll you have downloaded fixes the problem (for you) and just loads into a different location. [Note: the dll is actually identical, except for the load address embedded within it. You are not losing or gaining any functionality]

It is not possible to replace the standard shipping version with the version that works for you, as that version will not work for other customers.

I'm sorry, but this problem is not solvable for every customer.
