LPC1343 USB Examples

I have been trying to get the USB examples (CDC, HID, MSD) working on my LPCXpresso 1343 board but have been unable to do so.  I can build the examples and have gotten other examples working (ADC, blinky, etc.), but not the USB device examples.  When I run the USB examples, I cannot get the HID Demonstration executable to identify the board or the VCOM to be recognized by Windows to connect and get serial output.  I've searched the forum and have been digging in on the CodeRed Wiki but haven't found anything yet.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

I think i know now why NXP, with all respect, doesn't put more work in the UM's. Nobody cares to read them anymore nor do they look at schematics:(. It is a pitty because it would keep this forum cleaner.
Is it just a lack of time? A matter of deadlines??
Or....
are developpers becomming lazy ...

True.  I think the one thing that is missing is the blatant text (either in the document or with each readme example) that states these USB examples require another USB connector as shown in section 7.3.  Clearly I missed that because I was thinking the debug USB (albeit not connected directly to the LPC1343) could be used to transfer the LPC1343's data (via USB).  Clearly I was wrong.

I'm having the exact same problem.

So I actually need to add second USB connector (solder it to the board) to get those examples to work?

As am I ...
Did you read the "Getting Started" manual ?
Also section 7.3 "Enabling USB connectivity “to LPC1343 target”" ?

No? The do so right now and get unconfused.
