Hello Martin,
Here are some answers to your questions about the EM773.
1. Right now, we are waiting on Code Red Xpresso version 4 which will be EABI compliant. This will allow for rebuilding the IAR based SDK without needing to modify the actual metrology engine driver library. Once version 4 is released from Code Red, you are welcome to try porting the SDK over to Xpresso. At the moment, an official NXP porting effort has not yet been commissioned.
2. Yes, J-Link lite and any other JTAG emulator that works with IAR EWARM will work with our EM773 plug meter development kit.
3. The plug meter has a bi-directional radio included with the OL2381 and a bi-directional wireless M-Bus T2 mode software stack running on the EM773 CPU. This enables the PC software to send messages back to the plug meters. The point of the relay is to enable remotely turning on or off the power to whatever is plugged into the plug meter. This relay can be removed entirely, if not needed, as it is an optional function for the EM773. Other options include replacing the relay with a dimmer, as the EM773 could potentially support dimming of lighting solutions as well.
I hope this helps, and please let us know if you have additional questions.
Best regards,
Neal Frager
