JTAG Programming

Hello all,

I am having difficulty in trying to program a LPC1342 device via its JTAG interface, can anyone tell me if this is at all possible if so with what JTAG programming device? It seems rather strange that the chip pinout describes a JTAG input but it does not seem to be able to be used. I want to be able to use this interface purely for programming it not for debug purposes.

AFAIK, the LPC13 family have never had a JTAG deug interface and thus it was probably a docs error.

BTW: I would STRONGLY recommend that anybody building a product with any Cortex-M0, Cortex-M3 part should use SWD/SWV rather than JTAG.

Thanks all for pointing me in the right direction, it is somewhat frustrating that JTAG functionality has been removed (or was never there in the first place) as development has centred around using this interface for programming. Fortunately it is not to late for us to change the design of our product.

Is there any reason why it was specified as having a JTAG interface and then subsequently removed?

In the latest User Manual there is a following note in the revision history:
"Pin functions TRST, TDO, TMS, TDI changed to R (Reserved) throughout the
document."

Lpc1300 does not have a jtag debug interface. You can only use swd to access the chip.
