The behaviour of the Windows installer here has not changed since LPCXpresso was first released late in 2009!
If you have uninstalled a version of LPCXpresso since you last did an LPCXpresso install, then the installer will use a default start menu name (currently based on the version number of the version being installed now) - though you have the ability to edit the name used during the install process.
But if you have not uninstalled since last installing, then the start menu name will default to the same name as used for the previous install. This is presumably what you have encountered, and you did not manually change the name during the install process.
We will look into whether we can tweak the installer in a future release so that it always defaults to a start menu name based on the current install's version number (ie ignores the name used for a previous install).
