Hi, i just got my LPCXpresso lpc1343 today, and i have been trying to get the blinky to download to the board so i can start learning to use the board.

But every time I press on the Debug (blinky) button I get the same error

" Error launching Debug\blinky.axf
Error creating session "

The board is brand new, the LED2 blinks intermittently all the time (since the first time I connected it), the Board is showing up alright in the hardware manager (USB Device with DFU Capabilities).

What's wrong?.

im using Windows 7 64bits.

#1 Which OS are you using? Is it running on a Laptop?

#2 Could you program this board before? Is it a standard LPCXpresso?

#3 Did you try to reconnect USB?

#4 Are you  really using a USB2.0 cable?

#5 Did you try to enable 'Vector catch' and switch to ISP like described in: http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/DebugAccessChip

******************
*** SOLVED! ***
******************

IM RUNNING WINDOWS 7 x64 Ultimate

phew!, i finally solved it!, the problem was that the IDE wanted to use the 32bit CMD.exe from %windir%\SysWOW64\

For some reason mine was not working well, when I tried running it, it displayed that this version of windows wasn't built for that .exe (weird, maybe it got corrupted or something, but sfr.exe wasn't able to fix it).

so i has to first get a good 32bit CMD.exe from a good installation, then gain property of the one in my SysWOW64 folder (you cant modify it unless you claim property and set the security permissions for your user), back it up just in case, and put the good cmd.exe in there.

So if anyone is having this issue, im leaving the cmd.exe I used here.

cheers and thanks for all the help!.

im running as admin, UAC disabled.
disabled my antivirus, same thing happens.

I tested the board in a win7 x86 pc, everithing worked ok.

i recorded a WinDbg log for startup and trying to start debug on the IDE, hope it helps.

A couple more things for you:
1. Are you running as an Adminstrator or a Limited user? If Limited, try running as an Administrator
2. Do you have any anti-virus/firewall software that is blocking LPCXpresso from executing commands?

they're both on my path

%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin;%COSMOSM%;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\

running CMD via windows run works.
maybe there is a problem when java tries to run CMD?... i reinstalled java.. still doesn't work.

Also I noticed when installing the IDE i get this error about the vcredist_86x.exe and clusapi.dll, but im guessing thats ok since i'm on a x64 OS.

The IDE is trying to run "cmd.exe" and Windows is reporting that it can't find it.

So, what is your PATH? It should have Windows\System32 and Windows\SysWOW64 on the PATH
