AFAIK, the only low cost development board that has a J-Link included is the FreeScale KwikSitk.

altzhimers is a real bugger on times ...:-)

You seem to be saying that you like LCPXpresso but want to use another tool?

...

It is amazingly decent in fact.

I agree that it's very decent. The only gripe I have is speed when single-stepping code. I use a J-Link on some boards and it will single-step code much faster than the LPC-Link, which is rather slow.

A cheap LCP1114 board comes with a J-Link included that you can chop off and use for any other more expensive board if you wish.  It isn't JTAG it's 2 wire serial and very useful and practical.

If you compare all the grief of getting to grips with Freescale  products, or even IAR starter kits, to the joy of xpresso, you'll soon  be smellin' the coffee

I was hoping one of the other debugger manufacturers have made a driver/ dll for code red.
The price of code red is very tempting and NXP seems to be rooting for it.
But board manufacturer like Future Designs insist on supplying their development kit with the J Segger debugger.
Hence the query.

LPCXpresso (hardware and software) is a closed proprietary system.  I use Rowley CrossWorks which supports J-Link (plus 20 other debuggers including Red Probe and an ARM SIMULATOR as well).  It is a complete C/C++ and assembly code development system for        ARM7, ARM9, XScale, and Cortex microcontrollers. It supports hundreds of MCUs http://www.rowley.co.uk/arm/Support_Packages.htm

I quote from the LPCXpresso product page at Code Red's site:

Quote:
Summary of LPCXpresso 4 features

Simplified Eclipse-based Integrated Development Environment.

Device-specific support for a range of NXP LPC family microcontrollers including:

NXP LPC1100 and LPC1200 (Cortex-M0)

NXP LPC1300 (Cortex-M3)

NXP LPC1700 (Cortex-M3)

NXP LPC1800 (Cortex-M3)

NXP LPC4300 (Cortex-M4)

Selected members of the NXP LPC2000 (ARM7TDMI) family

NXP LPC2929 (ARM966)

NXP LPC3130 (ARM926-EJ)

NXP LPC3250 (ARM926-EJ + VFP )

Wizards to create microcontroller programming frameworks, fast.

Peripherals views of all supported microcontrollers.

Support for LPC-Link and Red Probe debug emulators.

No-fuss, single install for complete product.

LPCXpresso supports the LPC-Link (the debugger on the LPCXpresso module) and Code Red's Red Probe and Red Probe+ debuggers - that's all.
