Dear all,

I would like to know, can we connect SDA pin & ADC/GPIO pin in parallel?

If ADC pin and SDA pin in LPC1765 are shorted(Connected in parallel) each other and if i would like to Communicate through I2C will the Controller respond?

Or We need to configure the ADC pin (which is shortened to SDA) to GPIO for communication in I2C protocol?

Kindly support on this.

Regards,
Samson

Dear Rocketdawg,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Actually we are trying to interface Analog sensor or I2C based Color sensor one at a time. Any one sensor will be connect. If analog sensor is connected I2C based color sensor will be disconnected.

So we have designed the schematic like ADC pin of analog sensor and SDA pin of Color sensor will be shorted(Pic attached).

Now we have connected I2C based color sesnor and we made the ADC pin as GPIO(Open drain) state and tried to communicate.

But my I2C sensor is not working. SDA line is not working.

Am i doing correct? Please correct me if am doing wrong.

Regards,
Samson

Yes, you may.  But I doubt that it will serve any useful purpose, unless you can provide more details.
what are you trying to achieve?
