Can not activate license

Hello,

I've been trying to activate the free license for two days but the activation site doesn't seem to work at all.

Every time I try, I end up on this page: https://lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com/login_process.php , which is blank for me (GET request returning a 200 status but with no content)

I tried with different brower (including LCPXpresso internal browser), and even with a different account but with no success. Is there another way to activate the free license manually ?

Thank you

Hmm. That IP address looks to be the same that we are accessing without any problem. I think we need to take this back to our IT team. We'll report back once we get a response from them.

Tried again today, with the same result. I am not sure how long the DNS update is supposed to take but that seems a bit long, maybe there is another problem ?

Anyway, it would be really nice if you could give me the new IP address for the server, this way I can check if it is the same that I already have, and update my hosts files otherwise.

Thanks

I have tested on windows 7, with Chrome/FF/IE and the internal browser of eclipse.

Also tried on another machine to be sure.

If the only problem is with the DNS, I should be able to bypass it by updating my hosts file.

Could you give me the IP address for  lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com ?

On my side it is resolved as 52.166.197.110.

Thanks

PS : Assuming that your project is for a Cortex-M based MCU (rather than an older ARM7/9 based MCU) then you should be able to import and build the project inside MCUXpresso IDE.

Thanks for your reply.

I can't switch to MCUXpresso because I need to run an existing project that has been built on LCPXpresso by other people (I am more of an end user of the project, I can't change the way it's built, I just need to run it).

As for your other questions:

- if I am not logged in, I am redirected to the npx website where I can login, and then redirected to https://lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com/login_process.php

- if I am logged in, I am directly redirected to https://lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com/login_process.php

Everything seems to work as expected up to the login_process.php page.

Also, if I try to directly open https://lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com/login_process.php while not logged in, I get a response from the server: {"success":false,"errors":"User not registered"}

I am going to wait one more day to see if the DNS gets updated, maybe it will fix the problem.

What OS and browser are you running?

Can you try forcing a complete reload of the page that is appearing blank within your browser? How you do this will depend on browser, for example in Firefox use a SHIFT key + reload button.

Could you also maybe try a different browser, or maybe a different computer (you'll just need to copy the serial number across from the PC you are trying to activate on)?

You could maybe try forcing your local DNS cache to be flushed - a web search will bring up multiple hits such as How Do I Flush My DNS Cache on Windows? | Support | No-IP (external site). Or even rebooting your PC, and maybe your router too. But of course if a DNS serveron the web that your system reloads from still needs to refresh that might not help.

I'm sorry for the problems you are encountering with activating your LPCXpresso IDE installation.

There have been issues with the https://lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com site used for generating LPCXpresso IDE Free Edition activation codes recently. But these should have all been resolved as of yesterday. It is possible that it might take a few hours for DNS records to update around the internet for the new server that has been set up though.

It would be interesting to know if, when you attempt to go to the website, whether you are already logged into the main www.nxp.com website or not makes any difference?

And if you are not logged in on nxp.com, when you go to the activation site, do you get redirect to the login page or not?

Note: One other way forward here may be to consider using the newer MCUXpresso IDE product (which has superseded the older LPCXpresso IDE product). This does not require activation to function in Free Edition mode, so should avoid the problems you are currently encountering.

I'm having the same issue trying to activate LPCXpresso. I'm using MCUXpresso, but can't get some mbed sample code to build in it, and since the export option said LPCXpresso, I wanted to try that to see if it makes any difference.

If it's just a DNS issue (pending propagation), please give us the new IP address of lpcxpresso-activation.nxp.com so we can update our HOSTS files to work around the issue for now.
