CLRC663B with LPCXpresso1769 polling example

I am using the CLRC663B with LPCXpresso1769 to execute the polling example in the LPCXpresso IDE.
I have connected the boards together via SPI and the program executes, but only prints "Ready to Detect".
What do I need to change for the application to begin detecting the board?
