I'm trying to experiment with bit banding on an lpc1758 and it looks like the ide's  Memory Browser thinks that address 0x22000000 is invalid.  Is there a way adjust what regions are considered valid / invalid?

thanks!

Bitbanding does display correctly in the debugger - provided you use the correct address...

The bitbanding alias maps the bitband region starting at address 0x20000000. On the LPC17xx, the only RAM in that area starts at address 0x2007c000. This maps onto address 0x22f8000 in the bitband alias.

So, you need to view address 0x22f8000 to see the bitbanded aliases at address 0x2007c000. As no memory exists at 0x20000000, then no bitband alias exists as 0x22000000 and so you get errors returned from the target.

Hope that is clear!

I think that the problem here is that the debugger does not know about the restrictions that exist in accessing the bit band alias addresses. We'll look at what can be done here for a future release.

In the meantime, if you are experimenting with bit banding, I suggest that you take a look at the example that is provided in the FAQ at:
