I have tried searching this site and its close to impossible since you cant select a forum to search hence you get hits from all of them. I know that phpBB isn't that difficult to setup, wouldnt that be a better solution ?

Back to my question The LPCOPEN package doesnt have LPC18xx drivers for CAN BUS, are there any examples available showing how to use the CAN bus on LPC18xx ?

Hmm. The LPCOpen Platform has a lot of stuff in it. It includes Ethernet, USB Host+Device, RTOS, and much more. If it supports your part and you need any of those features, it is a good idea to start with one of the provided examples. The LPC111x/LPC11Cxx has the same CAN controller as the LPC18xx/43xx family.

Thanks for the heads up on the errata, is there any nxp arm device with the c_can controller that doesn't have these issues? The controller in the older nxp such as the 1768 can't use bit masks in filter and will not work for j1939 and nmea2000 without using software based filtering which I am trying to avoid.

Can I mix CMSIS and LPCOPEN ? Without conflicts? I need some things from lpcopen that's not available with CMSIS.

I think there is a need to document how to use custom board with lpcopen.

Hi! There are CAN examples in the CMSIS PDL software bundle which can be downloaded here: http://www.lpcware.com/content/nxpfile/lpc18xx-cmsis-compliant-standard-peripheral-firmware-driver-l.... Be sure you refer to the errata sheet, there is a known issue with CAN on the LPC18xx/LPC43xx parts.
