Hallo,
I'm looking for a working Red Probe / Red Probe + JTAG Gadget for an old legacy LPC1752 project. I know that these old micro-controllers are EOL and the JTAG probes can't be buyed from the former official sources anymore.
However, maybe somebody has such a probe in a corner of his lab and doesn't need it anymore. I would like to buy it for some reasonable price.
The only other alternative would be OpenOCD, but as the LPC17xx family is no longer active the code is no longer activly maintained.
So, before starting to mess around with OpenOCD maybe somebody can help me out. Also lending/hiring of the probe would be some option to fix some nagging bugs.
For the furture, a redesign with active hardware and existing debug probes seems to be necessary.

Hi
LPC1752 is still active but Red probe is not.
For LPC1752, our recommended debug tool is LPC-Link2:
or you can also choose MCU-Link, it support LPC17xx as well.

The successors of LPCExpresso do not support the LPC17xx family anymore. Otherwise I would use these successors and buy the recommended JTAG probe.
The Embedded Artist's website states: 'An alternative [to Red Probe] is LPC-Link2, but please note that this is not a 100% compatible product.'
So I'm stuck with LPCExpresso. Red Probe was used by the original engineers with the legacy project back 2012/2013. So that should work.
Can LPC-link2 be used with LPCExpresso for LPC17xx to upload to flash and to do single step debugging without problems? Are there other *working* and 100% usable alternatives?
What gives you the impression that LPC1700 is not supported in Mcuxpresso? I’m using it...
also LPC-link2 is supported in Lpcsprssso. So I don’t understand what your problem is.
ps. According the the product longevity site, lpc1700 is supported and available to purchase until 2028. So they are going to continue to support it in their tools until at least that date.
