LPC55 On-chip ROM boot via CAN FD?

The LPC55x series has a nice built-in bootloader in ROM, but I wonder if there are any ways to achieve rom-booting via CAN bus? (CAN-FD to be specific)

It's not listed as a valid boot peripheral in the datasheet, but I'm thinking if we could re-configure or wire the can pins in parallel to standard UART and use a fall-back mechanism so that the "Host" can detect we're not in CAN mode, run the boot-strap process, and then switch back to CAN FD.

Thoughts?

Hello dav,

Sorry, no, we have no method to change the code in ROM.

You can development a Secondary bootloader for CAN-FD.

Regards,

Alice
