LPC178x/7x User manual Typo?

Is there a typo in the Ethernet chapter of the user manual for the LPC178x/7x microcontroller (UM10470) where the 'ENET_TX_EN' Ethernet MII pin description refers to this connection being active low?

I did notice that between the September 2012 version (Rev 2) and the December 2016 (Rev 4.0) versions of this user manual that the inversion bar had been removed from the connection name, however the 'active low' operation text remains.

The user manual for the LPC17XX microcontrollers refers to this connection as being active high, in the absence of referring to it being active low. Since these devices are from the same device family, i'd assume that the peripheral for each is quite similar?

Reference designs I've seen using this chip connect to PHYs that would suggest that this connection is active high in operation.

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Alexander Smith,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and the opportunity to serve you.

In my mind, I agree with you.

I think it's a typo.

However I'd like to do more checking, so I was wondering if you can share the September 2012 version of the UM10470 and the user manual for LPC17XX microcontrollers you mentioned before.

Thank you in advance.

Have a great day,
TIC

Hi Jeremy,

thanks for your reply and yes, I can certainly share the older version of the User Manual. Is there way to upload this file to this forum or post? Or is it better to upload it to an external mirror and provide a link?

Cheers,

Alex.
