Hi,

I was wondering if someone could explain this little line in the 43xx user manual?:
"Hardware IP checksum feature removed from ethernet block".

On all the (current) NXP web pages relating to the 43xx mcus, they state "10/100 Ethernet with hardware enabled TCP/IP checksum calculation". But they seem to have removed this feature.

So, will a 4357 do tcp/ip checksum calculations in hardware or not?

Many thanks,

John.

I don't understand. TCP/IP is a protocol on top of Ethernet.
How can the Ethernet hardware know about the TCP payload checksum (without having to know pretty much about TCP)?
