According to the errata sheet the LPC4350(A) has a problem with serial flash devices that uses 4 byte addressing.

The S25FL512S supports 24 bit addressing mode for legacy applications, but is this good enough to allow the LPC4350 to boot ?

As I understand it, the SPIFI interface can later be configured to correctly use 32 bit addressing, so if booting was possible I could just reinitialise the SPIFI interface while running from internal RAM.

Hello Lars,

your understanding of the problem is correct. The root cause of the problem is not the hardware interface, but the ROM bootloader. As long as your boot process works, you can load a function into internal RAM and reconfigure the SPIFI to work in 4-byte mode.
This needs to be tested for each device which is not in our list. Could you please give us feedback if you see the boot process working or not, this will help us in generating a list of devices which can be used this way.

Thanks and best regards,
NXP Technical Support.
