Hi,
my company developed a device based on LPC1788. It features a two-chips 128MB SDRAM. The device is already in production.
We are starting a new project in which we want to develop a new device with cloud connectivity. In this project, security is critical. Thus we are planning to use a Kinetis K66F which supports hardware encryption.
We also need at least 256MB SDRAM. 512MB would be best.
In the K66 Ref Manual, section 35.5.1, it is said that "The maximum SDRAM address size is 128 Mbits". Does it mean that the maximum memory size is 16MB ? Or perhaps is it 16MB per chip select ? Is it at all possible to interface high capacity (512MB) SDRAM with a K66F ?
Thank you in advance for your help
Hi Pierre Walhin,
The K66 can't support the SDRAM whose size beyond the 16 Mb.
Hope this is clear.
Have a great day,
Ping
