When the pin muxing mode is configured for analog pin (default), the port needs pull-up or pull-down resistor ?

If configured for analog, the internal pullup/pulldown settings have no effect and they are disabled.
Or maybe you refer to a need for external resistors?

You do not need pullup/pulldown resistor in unused pins. It is recommended to leave them floating and configured as disabled (default).
