User Guide for FRDM-KE15Z?

HI,

I'm having a great time with my FRDM-KE15Z, but am looking to go deeper but can't find the User Guide to help me. All I have is the Quick Start Guide, which shows what the headers are connected to, but when it comes to the jumpers and the unpopulated pads, I'm having a hard time. Looking at the schematics I can figure out what some of the 10 jumpers do, but I would like more explanation. Isn't there a User Guide like there are for the LPC845 boards? Those PDF's are well done and make everything obvious and quick to find and understand.

Thanks,

Andre.

Hi Andre,

For more details regarding the FRDM-KE15Z you can use the reference manual.

Here is the link:

Let me know if this is what you were looking for!

Thank you.

Haver a great day!

Hi Mark,

I'd be happy with a description of the jumpers and unpopulated headers and who knows what else that's interesting that aren't called-out in the Quick Start guide in a handy format for quick reference. Poking through the schematics is quite laborious!

Best,

Andre.

Jumpers are not that interesting since they tend to be used to isolate things - like the SWD from the OpenSDA circuit or for measuring processor current consumption.

And the various headers (populated or not) are mainly connections to processor pins, where the usage then depends on how the pin's are configured. A general description of the numerous possibilities is not realistic; it is best to get to know the pin MUX functions in the chip itself and then decide which ones you need to use and then on which connectors that can be found.

The RF header and the Bluetooth header are not specific to these functions because the are not really any different to the other general header connectors - eg. in the past people have used small RF modules needing 8 pins with this layout and so the board designers put the same connector footprint so that it could be reused (SPI functions are in the correct place) but is is nothing specific to the processor.

Hi Mark,

I think the jumpers are interesting and wish for some quick quarter-page description for handy reference!

Best,

Andre.

I don't think that there is any in depth document for the FRDM-KE15Z board.

If you have a "specific question" please ask it here since I have knowledge of all boards and can explain what is not clear from the schematics.

Regards

Mark
