Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.
In the document you mention, as such the speed is not being filtered, since for this a large number of samples are required and this involves delays in the closed control loop, which can create instability in the system.
What is described in the document are two ways to calculate speed:
The first one is based on Hall sensor transitions (Equation 1). However, this presents variations.
The second is based on one hall signal transitions (Equation 2 and Fig. 12).
You can also download the Simulink model at the end of the document for more detail.
